Service Description

This one day course is designed to introduce the student to the specialized training required for management of search and rescue operations. The knowledge and skills topics covered in this awareness course include: introduction to search management, leadership of the management staff, common search management mistakes, operational pre planning, introduction to search theory, initial response to a SAR incident, managing the first operational period, introduction to search planning, introduction to search operations, transition into the second operational period, and a table-top mock search exercise.
