Service Description
Course Topics: “In high risk environments, lives are not saved by doctors and nurses. Lives are saved by the person who provides early and effective first aid.” This course is designed for Civilians, First Responders and others that may have to provide out-of-hospital care in austere environments with the possibility of having no other medical care for a extended periods of time. The program emphasizes expedient management of life, limb, and sight-threatening injuries and illnesses. This course will follow the guidelines of the widely accepted by Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (C-TECC) core concepts. C-TECC has become the standard of care for the tactical management of casualties within the Civilian Response Community and is the sole standard of care dual endorsed by both the American College of Surgeons This course covers topics designed to decrease preventable death in the tactical situation. Topics Include: Introduction to Trauma Emergency Care Control life-threatening hemorrhage using improvised and commercial equipment. Airway and respiratory support of trauma patients Recognize signs and symptoms of shock in trauma patients. Recognize signs and symptoms of head injuries. Considerations for active shooter response Triage principles. Causality movement using improvised and commercial equipment. THIS COURSE WILL BE PHYSICALLY DEMANDING AND WILL REQUIRE RUNNING CRAWLING STOOPING LIFTING 50 - 90 POUNDS DRAGGING/ CARRYING HUMAN WEIGHT
