This 2-day course focuses on the basics and priorities of survival: Positive mental attitude Equipment (10 necessary items) Shelter/Rope Skills Fire Craft Wilderness food and wild edibles This course is a “Basic Beginners" survival course; we encourage proper equipment, preparedness, and the expectation of rescue within 72 hours. **********OVERNIGHT STAY IS REQUIRED************ Students MUST bring the following items: Backpack or Rucksack with the following (You will have to carry everything you see below) CAMPING EQUIPMENT for your overnight stay, Tent Sleeping bag Drinking Water Chair Clothing for Weather Toiletry Items Sturdy Shoes/Boots (No sandals, open toe shoes or sleeveless shirts). Head lamp with spare batteries Insect repellent Bring any food & snacks that you need (NO MEALS PROVIDED) PLUS, MANDATORY EQUIPMEN BELOW: 8x10 or larger Tarp (or similar plastic cover) 2 Mylar Survival blanket 100 ft para cord (550 cord) or similar cord Compass Orienteering style 2 large trash bags Whistle 1 Ferro Rod/Magnesium fire starter 1 dozen Cotton Balls Bandana Hunting/survival style knife FIXED BLADE Only..
